Daughters of Zion are like pillars carved to adorn a palace. That is, wives are to support and strengthen their husbands; standing as the catalyst uniting other factors with their husbands, to make prosperous life a reality.

Naturally it is difficult to achieve the status of a pillar, for the weight of a house on a pillar is so heavy.

That is why many women today are cast out in their supposed homes; they are thrown to the street to endure life. Their marriages have become heavy stones tied to their necks, and they perpetually bow down under the burden of marriage either as a result of their errors or their husband’s, because they have no understanding. Many still, who started out brilliantly are now under the curse of either the family or of the land, stagnated and confused. There are some wives who would have loved to enjoy good health, long life so as to eat the fruits of their good labour but are victims of early grave. They crumble under the yoke of marriage through being the pillar. Some are not even appreciated for their efforts. The husband’s family hates them with a passion. To some, the hatred has been transferred to the children, making the children to be outcasts in their own family while their husbands have little or no regard for them. The challenge is much to bear naturally. But there is a way out. Lack of knowledge and understanding cause many pillars to crumble. The word of wisdom in Ecclesiastes 10 Vs 15 says, “A fool’s work wearies him; he does not know the way to town. There is a way to do or handle issues at a time. How intelligently you act depends on your knowledge and the understanding of the environment you are located, which still points to the three essentials for a woman as a strong pillar. She must be observant, humble and diligent.

Qualities:

Tactical intelligence; to think on your feet.

The ability to correct things or make an impression without making people feel offended or exposed.

Intelligence to discover what is wrong and fix it without lording it over your people. These are the requirements.

How do you come about the prerequisites?

(i) By learning and being observant:

(ii) By reading relevant books, listening to tapes.

Boldness is required but for you not be a bold fool, knowledge is very crucial, so that your work does not weary you. It is better to have zeal with knowledge, not without, so as not to miss your step/way. It will do you good to be bold without being arrogant. For definitely, you are going to contend physically with enemies to take possession and be established in your palace.

Spiritual as well as intellectual maturity will surely help you to stand with delight as a pillar. For example, God says He has given Moses the land but for him to take possession, he must engage King Heshbon in a battle. (Deuteronomy 2 Vs 24). This is the same way God is saying to every woman, you are carved specially to be in a palace but you must engage in both spiritual and intellectual battle to take possession and be in charge. You will have to personally deliver yourself from low self-esteem, spirit of intimidation, manipulation, unfriendly friends, etc.

All these are to reduce your tenacity and stamina in order for you to crumble. But as Moses worn the battle and took possession, you are surely going to win, provided you apply the necessary weapon correctly and timely too.

When I had this insight years back, I was afraid and discouraged. But the Spirit of God reminded me that somebody must do something unless I want my children to continue with the battle; to which I said NO! Holy Spirit gave me a simple but effective prayer point which I prayed. The prayer goes thus: “That the Kingdom of God be established in the family.” God took over. Not only that he has since been giving us His word suitable for situations as they come, I saw my husband and myself as children to be taught by God and so it has been. It is a process, just be consistent, day by day you are winning.

The Route to Ease of Life

In order to stand bold, strong and possess the land as your possession, go for knowledge. Get empowered spiritually and intellectually. The Kingdom of God which you have called to be in your family is not only about talking but by power. Power possesses through knowledge. There is no substitute for knowledge acquisition in the journey of life…

For intellectual growth, you have to read and acquire the right and necessary knowledge for every phase of life as you go. Reading materials by quality authors with proofs will help your confidence to soar.

In order not to struggle and crumble under the weight, you need the Holy Spirit, He is a personality. The third person of the trinity, the power of God; make Him your senior partner in the journey; engage Him to do the assignment with you. Be attentive as to follow His instructions (Exodus 23 Vs 21-22). Let Him guide and guard you. At times, what He will ask you to do may naturally make no sense, but do it and watch the burden of being a woman becoming a delight.

So crucial is your step also of surrendering your entire life to God through Jesus Christ. Tell Jesus He is the Saviour of your soul and the Lord over your life. For everything was created by Him and for Him. (Colossians 1 Vs 16 & 17). He that creates you knows how best to care for you. Reduce your struggle by accepting Him. Apostle Peter testified saying, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4 Vs 12). No other name can deliver us from any form of curses, shame, reproach, hardship, failure etc but the greatest name, “JESUS”. Jesus Christ came from above, that is why He is above every power, principalities, and wickedness in the world for they were not created by Him. (Colossians 1 Vs 16). His supremacy over all rubs on every believer. Jesus Christ says, “He has given you authority to trample and overcome them all and you shall not be hurt (Luke 10 Vs 19). Be convinced today that, it is knowledge acquired and applied, that makes you a beautiful, indestructible and admirable pillar you are carved to be. Until you surrender, Jesus will not take over. So surrender all to Him and be empowered to conquer. Enviable life awaits you as you do so.
