Attitude means the way you think, feel and believe about something or somebody. That is: how you feel and believe about something. There are right and wrong attitudes. Your action will always give you away even when you try to cover up. Your behaviour determines whether you enjoy unity or not in your marriage.

Lack of unity in a home breeds hatred and terror.  It brings enmity between husband and wife.  Hatred among brothers and sisters. It is painful when either of the couple discovers he/she has been deceived into a wrong relationship. A let down could bring disunity into a marriage. When you fail on your promises, your partner may decide not to go along with you in truth

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom says the word of wisdom. Likewise, submission to your husband is the beginning of pleasurable marriage for you.

The heavy burden and yoke you are battling with in your marriage is sometimes as a result of your lack of submission. Your mind is not in tune with his, so life becomes a pressure instead of pleasure.

Burdens like:

1. Going about policing your husband from falling into the hands of an intruder.

2. Your husband not providing for you and your children.

Unity is a catalyst for a progressive marriage. Mutual appreciation and genuine desire to help your spouse up in life are like a well mixed concrete poured on the foundation of any construction in a swampy land. It solidifies immediately for blocks to come in rows so as to form a beautiful building. But without love and submission, unity for progress cannot come.

The negative effects of lack of love and submission in marriage are all around us today in our society which is one of the reasons for disunity in marriages. I want to, first, talk about Lack Of Husband’s Love.

Foundation is the most important part of a building that is not visible. How well a structure stands is determined by the quality and the right mix of materials the builder puts in. It takes discipline on the part of the builder to follow the structural specification of a construction so as to have a good strong and durable structure. The need to adhere to specification of instructions for marital unity is vital.

Unity is a catalyst to an enduring and enjoyable marital life. Lack of unity in marriage brings resentment, and if not checked, could develop into hatred. This could graduate to enmity. More marriages have become a thorn in the flesh of couples because they lack unity.

Over-rating yourself or under-rating your spouse, in a marriage relationship, could destroy the unity of your marriage. Likewise the mindset that your spouse should be perfect in all things – in an imperfect world. It is setting yourself up for disappointment. Your marriage can be likened to a fertile, virgin land bequeathed you. Whatever you plant will be manifested by the quality of your harvest. You must plant and water your seeds before you can expect harvest.

Seeking for a change of status or story, are you sure you are not working or praying at cross purposes with your spouse? He or she may not be comfortable with change now and it may be difficult to bring about the desired status.

This is why you need to look inwards and check the health of your marriage. For, without unity of the mind, things would get tougher and frustrating.

Each time I read his teachings, it is like God is instructing me. My heart is drawn with understanding. He is one of our fathers that steadfastly guide us into spiritual and intellectual maturity.

The understanding of marriage or what marriage is and marital life is different  to different people.
Nigeria is a country blessed with different ways of life, and beliefs and this explains why marriages are struggling.

By understanding, a house is established.  For lack of understanding, people go into exile (wrong choice, living with somebody who is not for you).  Marriage is living in bondage to many.  While people of understanding are living in paradise though on earth.
